After a close call, I'm rethinking how we train operators
I think training new guys right at the machine is best for hands-on learning. My boss says it's too risky and wants them in a separate area first. How do you all balance this at your shops?

A red lamp on my desk tells my brain it's work time. @patel.casey's couch could use a similar cue to beat those distractions.

Ha, you're not wrong. My version of that is trying to do actual work from my couch, which mostly means training my dog to steal my snacks. The work happens here, but so do about ten other distractions. I've basically become really good at ignoring laundry piling up, that's my main skill now. Guess my couch is my permanent office, for better or worse. What's your workspace setup actually look like?
