Spent $23 on a jug of Marvel Mystery Oil for my $800 Ranger and I honestly can't tell if it did anything
Bought a clapped out 1998 Ranger off a guy in Bakersfield for $800, it burned a quart every 400 miles and knocked a little at idle. A parts counter guy swore up and down that a $23 jug of Marvel Mystery Oil in the crankcase would quiet it down, so I dumped it in and drove it 2,000 miles to see. The knock got quieter but the oil burning got worse, so did I get scammed or did I just pay $23 for thicker oil?
