Rant: I was checking compression with the engine cold for a year straight
Pulled the plugs on a $900 Civic I was flipping and got 90 psi on cylinder 3, so I almost sold it as a junker for $300. My neighbor who used to run a shop in Toledo said warm it up first and re-test, and suddenly all four cylinders read 150. I'd been cold-testing every car I bought for a year and passed on at least three that were probably fine. Anyone else get burned by a test you thought was the right way to do it?
