Just flipped a $900 Focus with a junkyard transmission swap
I picked up a 2002 Ford Focus ZX3 for 900 bucks a few weeks back. The dude said it had a bad transmission but the body was clean for a northern car. I found a used trans at a local pull-a-part in Akron for $150 and spent a Saturday swapping it in my driveway. Got it all back together and the thing actually shifts smooth now. I even threw on some cheap coilovers I found on Facebook marketplace for $60 to make it look aggressive. Listed it for $2800 and had a buyer within 8 hours who didn't even haggle. Definitely not a glamorous car but the profit margin was solid for a weekend of work. Anyone else had good luck with those early 2000s Foci? They seem to be getting overlooked lately.

My buddy threw the same kind of coilovers on his Civic and the car handled like a shopping cart after a week, ended up taking them back off.

Those cheap coilovers on marketplace are honestly the best way to try a slammed look without breaking the bank.
