Had a killer three-day run last month flipping a Crown Vic

Snagged a 2004 Crown Vic with 180k miles for $400 from a guy who thought the transmission was shot. Turned out it just needed a $30 shift solenoid and I sold it for $1800 three days later. Anyone else had a lucky find like that where the fix was way easier than it looked?

Sold a car that didn't need a transmission for $1400 profit? Must be nice to have that kind of luck fall in your lap. I spent three weekends chasing a ghost code on a Honda Accord that turned out to be a loose gas cap. Your story just reminds me that some people are born under a lucky star and the rest of us have to actually work for it. But hey, good for you. Just don't expect that to happen twice.

idk man, I've been there with the ghost codes too. What finally worked for me was keeping a cheap bluetooth OBD reader in the glovebox and clearing codes before I start diag on anything. That way I can see if the code actually comes back after a drive cycle instead of chasing my tail for days. Also, check the purge valve and evap lines before you do anything serious on those Hondas, they love throwing random misfire codes over the smallest vac leaks.
