Bleeding brakes on my $900 Celica took 3 weekends, not 3 hours
Everyone says gravity bleeding is foolproof but my rear cylinders kept sucking air past the threads even with new crush washers. Finally figured out the flare nut was cracked at the line, replaced it with a 50 cent fitting from the junkyard in Sacramento and it stopped. Anyone else fight a simple brake job for way longer than the forums admit?

So how did you track down that cracked flare nut, was it just a hunch or did you go through the whole system first?
