Vent: I had to choose between a cheap replacement shutter curtain or a full CLA on a Pentax K1000

The curtain was $15 and the clean, lube, adjust would have been over $100, so I went with the cheap fix. It worked for about a week before the shutter started dragging again because the old grease in the mechanism was still gummed up. Has anyone else had a quick fix totally backfire because you didn't address the root cause?

My $20 fix for a leaky faucet just meant the whole pipe burst a month later.

Ugh that's the worst, when a cheap fix just kicks the problem down the road. Been there, feels like such a waste.
