The day I realized I was cleaning my camera sensors totally backwards
I had been using those little pre-moistened swabs for years on my Nikon D850, always wiping in the same direction. Then a guy at the Albuquerque camera shop asked why I was pushing debris further into the corners instead of dragging it out. Hit me like a bucket of water when he showed me the streak marks under his loupe. Has anyone else had a similar 'wait, I've been doing this wrong for a decade' moment?

Dude, that's brutal lmao. I had a similar gut punch moment when I learned I'd been using wet cleaner on my phone screen for years and it was actually stripping the oleophobic coating. Sometimes you just don't know what you don't know.

Man I was the exact opposite for a while. I used to think those little alcohol wipes were totally fine because they dried fast and left no streaks. Then my buddy who fixes phones for a living told me that's basically the worst thing you can do. He showed me his old beat up test phone with the coating half gone and it was an eye opener. Now I just use a dry microfiber cloth and maybe a tiny bit of water if it's really bad. Your mileage may vary but I definitely switched my whole routine after that conversation.
