Heads up about those new adhesive light seals from a certain supplier

For years I cut my own foam strips and used basic rubber cement, which worked fine but took forever. Last month I bought a pack of pre-cut adhesive seals from a supplier in Texas to save time. Ngl, after a week in a hot car, the adhesive on three separate repairs completely failed and the seals just fell off. Now I'm back to cutting my own and using a stronger cement I trust. Has anyone else run into this with the newer pre-cut kits?

Did the adhesive just give up and take a vacation to Mexico or what? Sounds like those pre-cut seals are about as reliable as a paper umbrella in a hurricane. I bet if you left that camera in the car any longer the whole strip would have just packed its bags and left town forever. Now you're back to cutting foam like some kind of foam artisan while the rest of us learn the hard way that shortcuts are just longer paths to disappointment.

My last attempt at a shortcut ended with me picking foam bits out of a camera bag like a sad salad.

That "sad salad" phase is just part of the process, honestly.
