Had a vintage Hasselblad backfire on me during a shoot in Denver yesterday

The shutter curtain jammed halfway through a roll, so I had to explain to a very confused bride why her photographer was now performing emergency surgery with a tiny screwdriver in the middle of the ceremony.

The "emergency surgery with a tiny screwdriver" bit is the perfect example of how everything is held together by invisible fixes. My car, my laptop, my old house, they all run on a series of small, desperate repairs that nobody sees until the curtain jams at the worst time. It makes you wonder what's about to fail next.

Right? It's like we're all living in a house of cards built with duct tape and hope. My entire life feels like a waiting game for the next thing to break, from the weird fridge noise to the phone battery that dies faster every day. How many of these invisible fixes can pile up before the whole system just gives up?
