Cleaning my sensor with a blower vs. a wet swab, and the wet swab won by a mile
Last week I shot a wedding in Denver and came home with a big dust spot right in the middle of every frame at f/11. I tried my rocket blower about 15 times, and the spot just laughed at me and moved maybe half a millimeter. Then I broke out the wet swab kit I had sitting in a drawer for 8 months and did one single pass, and it came off clean with zero streaks. I was honestly scared to touch the sensor for years, but the blower only ever gets the loose stuff while the swab gets what is actually stuck on there. Now I am wondering, how often do you all wet clean a sensor before you start worrying about wearing down the coating?
