A vintage Pentax K1000 shutter curtain jammed on me mid-repair yesterday and I had to improvise a fix with a tiny piece of brass shim stock.

Has anyone else found a good trick for dealing with a sticky cloth shutter that won't reset fully without taking the whole assembly apart?

Honestly, is it even worth the hassle? Those old cloth shutters get gummy and it's a known issue. A temporary shim fix might just fail again next week when the real problem is dried lubricant.

Totally get that, quinnbailey, I was the same way until mine jammed shut last winter.
