Walked through a Portland brewery and their tap list order made me rethink my pricing

Went to a small place off SE Division last Saturday. They had 12 taps and the cheapest beer wasn't first, it was in the middle. Owner told me they put the $9 flagship at spot 3 and the $14 special at spot 9 because people scan the middle and decide from there. I tested it with my own menu last week, moved my mid priced service to the center slot and bookings went up about 18%. Has anyone else played with where they list their main offer on a page or menu?

That feels like confirmation bias honestly. Moving one item on a menu and blaming a booking jump on it ignores a ton of other factors like time of week or ad timing. If middle placement really worked that well, every restaurant would already be doing it and we'd all be rich off that one trick.
