The one simple Google Maps tweak that doubled my foot traffic in 3 weeks

I run a small coffee shop in Austin and for 6 months I was just sitting there watching people walk past. Then I noticed my Google Business listing had the wrong hours. I fixed it, added a Q&A section with 5 common questions people always ask at the counter, and started posting 2 photos a week. Within 3 weeks my check-ins jumped from 12 a day to 28. Seriously, check your listing right now - is your address even correct? What's the dumbest little fix that actually moved your numbers?

I ran a sandwich shop in Portland for 4 years and honestly I think the listing stuff gets way too much credit sometimes. 12 to 28 check ins sounds nice but those are still small numbers man. I fixed my hours too and saw maybe a 10% bump tops. What really moved the needle for me was handing out a free cookie with every coffee after 2pm. That got people talking to each other and sharing on their own. The google photos and Q&A stuff feels like polishing a turd if your actual product or service isnt giving people a reason to stick around. Not saying your coffee is bad or anything but maybe that foot traffic jump came more from word of mouth or a busy week than from the listing tweaks.
