The invoice template I copied from a buddy was killing my cash flow

Last Tuesday I sent out three invoices and two clients asked for itemized breakdowns because my template had no line items. Turns out vague billing made me look scammy and slowed payments by like 2 weeks each. Anyone else ditched a borrowed system after realizing it hurt more than helped?

Ditched mine after a client literally asked if I was hiding something. The template was just a total dollar amount with zero breakdown, and I thought it looked clean and professional. Nope. Now I list every single task with a one line description, even the dumb stuff like "emailed vendor." Payments went from dragging 3 weeks to coming in within a week, and nobody's questioned a charge since. That borrowed shortcut was costing me way more than I saved.
