One Tuesday I lost a $14k contract because I ignored a simple email

I run a pest control outfit in Phoenix and we had a solid shot at a big apartment complex deal. The property manager sent a follow up asking about our response time for emergency calls and I let it sit for two days because I was out on routes. They went with a competitor who answered within the hour. That one email cost me more than my best month last year. Anyone else lose serious money just by being slow to reply?
