Noticed more businesses skipping the website and going straight to Instagram shops
Three of my local coffee shops in Portland have dropped their sites completely over the last year. They just post menus and take orders through Instagram DMs now. Has anyone else seen this shift hurting customer experience, or am I overthinking it?

Yeah my local bagel shop did the same thing last month. I tried to look up their hours and ended up scrolling through like 50 Instagram stories to find a blurry photo of their schedule. It's honestly annoying when I just want basic info without having to dig through social media posts.

My buddy had this happen with a taco place near him. He drove twenty minutes to get there and the sign on the door said "Closed for staff training, see Instagram for updates". He pulled up their page and it was just memes and reposts, nothing about the training. He ended up having to DM them and they replied three days later. Kind of makes you wonder why businesses do this to themselves when a simple website update would be way easier.
