Hit $10k in monthly recurring revenue last month and it felt weird
I started this little consulting side gig about 18 months ago just doing basic stuff for local businesses. Last month I checked my Stripe dashboard and saw $10,200 in MRR and had to double check the numbers. It didn't feel real because I still work from my kitchen table and none of my friends even know I do this. Has anyone else hit a number that seemed way bigger than they expected?

That thing you said about the weird feeling being a good sign really hit home for me. When I hit my first big MRR milestone I felt the same way, and I think it actually kept me hungry and kept me from slacking off. For me, not telling anyone about it made it easier to just keep my head down and focus on what was working instead of getting distracted.

Whoa, that's a wild milestone to hit without it feeling real. But here's something I haven't seen anyone mention - maybe that "weird" feeling is actually a good sign, like your brain protecting you from getting too cocky too fast. I've noticed people who hit big numbers quietly often build something way more stable than the folks who post every win on LinkedIn, you know? That $10k MRR from your kitchen table gives you total freedom to scale up or even just relax a bit without the pressure of a fancy office or a team to manage. It's almost like the weirdness is proof that you're doing it right, since the real money often comes from boring, consistent work nobody brags about.
