Crossed $10k in monthly recurring revenue and it finally clicked for me

I was always against subscriptions for my small web design business. Figured one-time projects were simpler. Then I hit $10k in MRR last month after switching 12 clients to monthly maintenance plans. That steady paycheck changed how I think about growth. Anybody else find a specific number that made them rethink their whole model?

My web design business hit the same wall. I had this one client who paid me $500 to build their site and then I never saw them again. Six months later they wanted a complete redesign because their plugins broke. I charged them another $500 and realized that was a dumb way to do business. Now I bundle hosting, security updates, and small changes into a monthly fee. The clients actually like it because they don't have to think about their website ever again. It took me hitting $8k in MRR to understand that one time projects are just leaving money on the table.

Did you read that one article on how sub models change your mindset around cash flow?
