That $40 Leuchtturm1917 notebook was a total waste for me

I bought one of those fancy Leuchtturm1917 notebooks because everyone raves about the dotted grid and page numbers. Spent about $40 on it and the paper bled through with my Pilot G2 pens within two days. Anyone else find these overpriced notebooks just don't hold up to regular ink?

Picked one up myself last year thinking it'd be a game changer for journaling. Used a standard Uniball pen and the ghosting was terrible, you could see every word on the back of the page. The numbered pages are nice and all but what's the point when the paper feels like tissue? Even the cover started getting these weird scuff marks after a week in my bag. Totally regret spending that much when a $7 Moleskine works way better for me.

My 64-page one had the same issue with a standard Pilot G2, ghosted so bad I could read yesterday's entry through today's. Ended up switching to a finer tip, like a 0.38mm, and that helped a little but not enough. The corner wear is real too, mine got those white spots just from sliding in and out of my backpack pocket. Honestly I just tape a piece of scrap paper behind whatever page I'm writing on now, feels ridiculous for something that cost that much. Moleskine paper is definitely thicker, I get why you went back.
