Question about the friend who said my dotted grid was "hiding" my messy weeks
She said it over coffee at the diner on 5th and it stuck with me, because she was right that I was decorating over the pages where I felt behind instead of actually marking them. Now I want to know, does anyone else catch themselves making the spread look nice to avoid writing down the ugly stuff?

It's the same thing as cleaning the whole house when you should be doing your taxes, right? You get this nice clean kitchen and a pile of papers still sitting there, but the kitchen looks great so you feel productive. I do it with my budget too, color coding the whole thing in a fancy app while ignoring the one number that's actually scary. The pretty version is way easier to look at than the real one. Your friend sounds like she knows you well, which is annoying and also kind of great.
