My new fountain pen leaked all over my monthly spread

It happened last Thursday while I was setting up my April pages. I was using a new ink sample, a dark green one, and the pen just started dripping. It ruined the whole two-page layout I had drawn for my habit tracker. I had to carefully blot the pages and let them dry overnight. Now I'm back to my old reliable gel pens for anything important in my journal. Has anyone else had a pen disaster like this, and how did you save the pages?

Ugh, did you try sprinkling salt on the wet ink to save it?

Wait, you can actually do that? I always thought salt would just make a bigger mess. I mean, I tried it once on a watercolor piece and it left these weird white spots everywhere. But maybe ink is different? I guess if the paper is still damp, the salt could pull the moisture out faster. I'll have to test it next time I mess up a drawing.
