Wait, a tiny chip in the ball? That's wild (and honestly kind of impressive, how does that even happen?). Once the ball's messed up, it's over, no amount of cleaning fixes a physical dent. It's like saying you can buff out a crack in your phone screen.

Disagree completely, some pens are just done for good. Had a gel pen last week that wrote fine until the ball got a tiny chip, cleaning did nothing. Sometimes the inner parts wear out in a way you can't fix. The_evan might be right for simple clogs, but not every pen problem has the same answer.
