My early bullet journals were all about colors, but now I see plain black pen gets things done.

Switching to minimal spreads cut my setup time in half and boosted my productivity.

Disagree, colors make my journal fun and help me sort tasks faster. Plain black just looks dull and doesn't motivate me.

Tell me your journal system has to be crazy complex if you need colors just to know what to do next.

But honestly, I've been on both sides of this. @jennifer358, you say colors mean a complex system, but what if colors just match how someone's brain works? For some people, visual cues speed things up without adding real extra steps. My question is, how do we even measure what "gets things done" means? Is it about finishing tasks faster, or maybe about feeling motivated to keep using the journal? I found that when I used colors, I actually did more because I liked looking at my pages, lol. But now I wonder, does a simple black pen setup only work for people who already think in a straightforward way?
