Found a simple page numbering trick at a library conference in Chicago
I went to this bullet journal meetup at a library in Chicago last weekend and someone showed me how they number their index pages. Instead of counting pages one by one or using a ruler, they just took 5 pages and numbered them in a batch using a sticky note as a measuring guide. It sounds dumb but it saved me like 20 minutes when I got home and tried it on my new journal. I used to dread setting up a fresh notebook because of the page setup. Now I just do groups of 5 and it's way faster. Has anyone else got a weird setup hack like this that speeds things up?

Oh man, I feel you on the dread of setting up a fresh notebook. I started doing something similar where I just fold the corner of every 10th page as I go, then later go back and number them in one sitting. It makes the whole setup feel less like a chore and more like a quick little project.

Wait, you fold the corner of every 10th page as you go? Like you don't even number them right away? That's wild to me lol. I gotta be honest, that would drive me absolutely crazy having those folded corners staring at me for weeks until I finally sat down to number them all. I tried something similar once with sticky notes marking sections and ended up ripping them all out after like three days because I couldn't stand looking at the tabs haha.
