Digital tracker vs paper log, the paper won after 3 weeks

I kept trying to track my water intake and sleep in a notes app on my phone. It worked okay for like 2 days, then I'd forget or just not bother opening it. Last month I switched to a simple grid in my bullet journal with a pen. Something about physically crossing off each glass of water or writing the time I went to bed just sticks. I've kept it up for 3 weeks straight now. My phone setup always felt like a chore, the paper one feels like a tiny win every time. Has anyone else found that the physical act of writing makes them actually follow through?

Is my handwriting really that much better at guilt-tripping me than my notifications?
