I had 14 pages of index entries in my Leuchtturm and was flipping past them every single time because nothing ever got marked off. A guy at a cafe in Boise saw me do it and said, "Do the bullets in your index match the bullets in your daily log?" Turns out I was indexing tasks instead of collections, so my index was full of stuff that died 3 days after I wrote it, and now I want to know, are you indexing tasks at all or just spreads and collections?
My gym has the same problem with their equipment log. People write down every machine they touched that day, and the log turns into 40 pages of noise nobody reads. An index is a map of where things live, not a diary of what you did.
