That random gas station receipt changed how I save

Stood behind a guy buying a lottery ticket who told his buddy 'I budget $50 a week for this, it's my fun money'. It made me realize I never gave myself a specific allowance for stuff I actually enjoy, so I started setting aside $40 every Friday for whatever. Been 3 months now and I don't feel guilty grabbing a coffee or a new game anymore. Anyone else try giving themselves a small 'no questions' fund?

Wait, so you're telling me I need a permission slip to buy my own snacks now?

Three years ago I just started keeping my own stash in my desk drawer and never asked for permission again. Has anyone actually tried just ignoring the rule to see what happens?
