My neighbor Joan told me to put my credit card in a block of ice to stop impulse spending. I thought she was crazy but I tried it last month. I saved $340 because I had to wait for the ice to melt before I could buy anything. It really forced me to think about each purchase. Has anyone else tried something weird like this to stop overspending?
