Overheard a guy at the hardware store bragging about his $0 landscaping budget
He just let weeds grow and called it a native garden. No mowing, no watering, no soil. Said he saved $200 a month on lawn care last summer. Made me think about how much we overspend trying to keep grass green. Anyone else rethinking their yard budget after hearing something like that?

Man, I feel that - my water bill was killing me until I let my yard go wild too.

Isn't it crazy how much we spend trying to keep grass green? I read somewhere that up to half of a household's water use in the summer goes to lawns. I just let my clover take over and it stays green with almost nothing, plus the bees love it. My neighbor still waters his lawn three times a week and it's not even that nice looking to be honest.
