My grocery budget imploded at the Aldi checkout line last Tuesday
I was standing there watching the total hit $78 for what I thought was a $50 trip and realized I'd been grabbing snacks without checking the per-pound price on the shelf tags. Swapped out the fancy cheese for store brand and saved $12 on the spot - has anyone else caught themselves doing lazy math at the store?

oh man the "lazy math" thing is so real lol. i actually just read an article about how stores put the price per pound in tiny font on purpose so you don't notice it until checkout. its like they know we're all just grabbing stuff without doing the mental work. i started keeping a little notepad on my phone with the prices of my usual stuff so i can spot when something is way more than i thought it was. that fancy cheese trap is brutal though i fell for it last week with some goat cheese that was like $8 and i didn't even realize until i got home. the store brand swap is the smartest move honestly, half the time its the same stuff anyway.

The store brand swap is so clutch, I've been doing it for years and nobody ever notices the difference.
