My emergency fund hit $5,000 and it felt like nothing
I've been putting $100 from every check into a savings account for what feels like forever, just because every guide says you should. I checked the balance today and it was over five grand, which is more than my car is worth. Has hitting a number you thought would feel big ever just left you flat?

Oh man, that hit me right in the gut... I did the same thing last year and ended up feeling kinda empty. What finally clicked for me was setting a small, specific goal for the money, like "this pays for six months of my car insurance" rather than just watching a number grow. I started putting $50 of each check into a separate envelope for something fun, like a weekend trip, so I could actually see the cash pile up for something I wanted.
