My brother called my $200 monthly coffee habit 'a car payment' and it stung.

He said it straight up while we were looking at used cars online last weekend. Now I'm putting that cash into a separate account to see what it really adds up to in a year. Anyone else get called out on a 'small' daily spend that's actually huge?

That "car payment" comment would stick with me too. Are you going to keep tracking it after the year, or is this just a one time check to prove a point? I'm curious if seeing the total will actually change your habit or if it's more about knowing the number.

Honestly though, is it that big of a deal? Tbh most people have one thing they spend too much on, whether it's coffee, snacks, or streaming services. It's just money moving around. If it makes your day better and you can pay your bills, who cares what he calls it.
