I thought the 'cash envelope' thing was just for people who can't use a debit card

My friend kept telling me to try it for my food and fun money, so I finally did it last month. I put $400 in an envelope for groceries and $150 for eating out, and it was a game changer. Seeing the actual cash go down made me think twice about grabbing takeout, and I ended the month with $60 left in the grocery envelope. I'm honestly shocked it worked so well. Has anyone else had a win with a simple method they thought was too basic?

I mean, I started using a piggy bank for loose change and it added up to like two hundred bucks.

Wait, isn't the whole point that it's for everyone? Like @gray_patel's piggy bank, it just makes you see the money leaving.
