I spent $80 on a 'budget' meal kit that was just sad

Got a promo for a fancy meal service called 'Savory Spoon' that promised restaurant quality for cheap. The first box showed up with wilted greens and a tiny packet of spice labeled 'umami dust' lol. I could have bought the same stuff at Kroger for half the price and it wouldn't have been soggy. Anyone else get tricked by a meal kit deal that was just a waste?

Was it really $80 or are you rounding up?

Honestly the tax part is what gets me every time. That price on the shelf never matches what you actually pay at the register. So even if the base price was like $76, after sales tax you're definitely hitting eighty bucks... feels like a sneaky trick.
