Had to choose between buying lunch out every day or meal prepping on Sundays

I was spending about $12 a day on sandwiches and chips near my office in downtown Seattle. After 3 months of that, I finally sat down and did the math - it was almost $250 a month just on lunch. So I started prepping on Sunday afternoons instead. Now I spend $40 a week on groceries for lunches and I actually eat healthier. Has anyone else made a switch like this and stuck with it?

Oh man, that first time you really see the numbers is a real eye opener, isn't it? I'm glad you made the switch, it sounds like a smart move for your wallet and your health.

Yeah it really does hit you hard. I started tracking mine a few months ago and holy cow, I was spending like $200 a month on takeout coffee and snacks. Didn't even realize it added up like that. The health part too, I was eating garbage without thinking. Now I pack a lunch and make my own coffee. Feels good to see that money stay in my account.
