TIL the $22 pads from the parts store outlasted the $65 set I ran for 3 years
I put cheap pads on my Civic after the pricey ceramics wore down to 2mm in about 28k miles, mostly city driving here in Columbus. The cheap ones have 40k on them now and still have meat left, which honestly makes no sense to me. Is it the pad or did my rotors just finally break in right?

Ha, well this makes me feel great about the $80 pads I just put on my Corolla last month. I drive mostly short trips around town too, so maybe I've been wasting money this whole time thinking the cheap ones would grind my rotors down. 40k and still going is wild though, makes me wonder if the pricey stuff is just marketing. Guess I'll find out in a couple years if I joined the cheap pad club.
