Rotors glazed over after 3 track days, street driving fixed them

Got my 2017 Civic Si out to Summit Point back in April for a novice day. Brakes felt great that first session, tons of bite. Did two more track weekends in May and June without swapping pads. After the third one I noticed this weird shimmer on the front rotors and a nasty vibration when braking from highway speeds. Turns out I cooked the pad material onto the rotors, classic glazing. A buddy who runs time trials told me to just do some hard street stops from 60 mph to get them hot again and scrub it off. Ten or so aggressive decelerations over a couple days and the shudder was gone. Rotors still look a bit blue but the pedal feel is back to normal. Anyone else saved rotors this way or should I just bite the bullet and replace them before my next HPDE?
