Isn't it funny how the stuff that seems like common sense just goes out the window when you're in the middle of a stressful situation? I had a similar thing happen last week with my car battery dying... I stood there staring at it for five minutes before I even remembered to call for help. It's like your brain just freezes up and you forget all the basic stuff you usually know.
