Old shop teacher's brake trick still saves me 20 minutes

Back in 2015 I was at a buddy's garage in Toledo swapping pads on his F-150 and we kept fighting the caliper piston. My old shop teacher Mr. Hendricks swore by using the old pad as a pusher plate with a C-clamp, and that day it clicked in a way it never did in class. Now I carry a spare worn pad in my toolbox just for that, costs nothing and keeps the piston straight without gouging the face. Anyone else got a trick they learned from a teacher or mentor that still sticks with you?

Yep, old brake pad trick works every time. Learned that from my dad, never looked back.
