My uncle told me he never turns rotors anymore, and it took me 3 brake jobs to get why
He's been doing brakes in his garage in Tacoma for 30 years and he just slaps new pads on and sends it, said turning rotors is how you eat through them faster. I argued with him about it, then measured my front rotors at 24.6mm when spec says 26mm minimum and figured out I'd been paying $30 a corner to make my rotors thinner for no reason. Anyone else just running new pads on used rotors, or am I about to learn an expensive lesson?
