Just crossed 50,000 miles on original brake pads in my Corolla
I bought a 2019 Corolla new and kept waiting for the pads to wear out but they just kept going. Hit 50k last week on the way to work in Austin and the pads still have maybe 4mm left. Is this normal for Toyotas or did I just get lucky with a set of pads from some freak manufacturing batch? Anyone else hit crazy mileage on factory pads without changing them?

Toyota really seems to have figured out that long term stuff, don't they.

Yeah, "figured out that long term stuff" is exactly right. Look at the 4Runner - that thing has basically been the same truck for 15 years and people still pay above MSRP for a used one. Or the Tundra, how they kept the same V8 forever because it just worked. They don't chase trends like everyone else does with turbos and CVTs. That patience is why you see so many 200k mile Toyotas still daily driven. Most other brands would have redesigned three times by now and broken everything.
