I finally tried greasing the slide pins on my 2012 Civic before the pads wore out again

My rear pads were dragging after 20k miles, so instead of throwing new calipers at it I pulled the pins and packed them with synthetic grease. No more grinding sound and the pads look even after 3 months. Anyone else had luck just maintaining the hardware instead of swapping everything?

86 CRV owner here and I had the same dragging issue until I realized the rubber boots on the pins were cracked letting moisture in. Put new boots and grease on and the difference was night and day, no more burning smell after long drives. People overlook those little rubber parts but they're just as important as the grease itself.

My friend's Accord did the same thing until he replaced those little rubber boots with new ones and it fixed it.
