I called ceramic pads overhyped until a loaded truck in Denver changed my mind
Last summer I put cheap semi metallic pads on my F150 and the dust and noise in stop and go traffic drove me nuts. A mechanic in Denver told me to try ceramic, and after about 15,000 miles I have to admit he was right, way less dust and the pedal feels fine. But my buddy runs semi metallic on his truck for towing and swears ceramics fade on long mountain grades. So is it just about how you drive the truck, or does ceramic really hold up when you're loaded heavy? What has worked for you guys?
