Caught a wild vibration on I-95 and it cost me a rotor set

Last month I was hauling down I-95 near Richmond and the pedal started pulsing like crazy at 70 mph. Pulled off at the next exit, checked the fronts, and the rotors were blue from heat. Turns out my caliper pins had seized from old grease, so the pads never released fully. Replaced both rotors and pins for about $120 in parts, but now I check pin movement every oil change. Anyone else deal with a seized caliper pin that cooked a rotor? What do you clean those pins with?

Wait, blue rotors after just one hard run on I-95? How long were you riding the brakes before you noticed the pulsing?
