Stopped by the old Schwinn shop in Springfield and the repair bench looked exactly like it did in 1998.
The guy there still had the same Park Tool TS-2 truing stand and a jar of grease-caked bearings on the shelf, which made me think about how much of our work is still just hands and simple tools, even with all the new carbon and electronics.

Oh man, that hits home. My home repair bench is basically a museum of tools I've had since high school. I'm pretty sure my chain whip has outlasted three of my relationships. Some things just work, you know? Even if my methods are stuck in another century.

Wait, three relationships? Honestly that's the part that got me. I'm over here trying to picture what kind of magic chain whip you have that just won't quit. Tbh my tools usually break right when I really need them, so yours lasting that long is actually wild. It's like that one perfect thing you can never replace. Ngl, I'm a little jealous of your bench museum now.
