Spent $35 on a set of internal cable routing magnets and it was a total waste

Had a new carbon frame come in last week with full internal routing. Bought the magnet kit thinking it would save me an hour. The magnets were too weak to pull the housing through the tight bends. Ended up using my old fishing line method anyway. Anyone have a better tool for this that actually works?

Honestly, those magnet kits are hit or miss. I've had good luck with the Park Tool IR-1.2, it's a bit more heavy duty for the tight spots. Saved me a real headache last build.

That "total waste" feeling is so real. It feels like everything is sold as a time-saving hack now, but half the time the old way is just better. I bought a special avocado slicer that just made more dishes. My dad still uses a bent coat hanger to unclog the sink drain. Sometimes the simple fix is right in front of us.
