Shoutout to the old school mechanic who showed me why a $5 cone wrench beats a crescent on cup and cone hubs
I watched him adjust a loose front hub in under a minute with the right tool, while I'd been fighting it for ten with an adjustable wrench that kept slipping. Anyone have a different 'cheap tool that's actually perfect' story for a specific job?

My buddy found a cheap plastic tire lever that somehow never breaks, while my metal ones bend. It's the only tool he trusts for stubborn tubeless tires now. Sometimes the right cheap tool just feels like magic.

Hold on, a plastic lever that doesn't snap on tubeless tires? That's the real magic trick here. Every plastic lever I've ever touched turns into a grenade with a tough bead. Your buddy must have found a unicorn. Makes you wonder what weird plastic mix they used for that thing.
