PSA: That new carbon paste from the big brand? Maybe skip it.
I mean, I tried it on a customer's carbon seatpost last week, the one in the blue tube. Followed the directions, put a thin layer on, torqued it to spec. Came back three days later and the post had slipped almost a full inch. Cleaned it off, used my old reliable paste, and it's been solid since. Has anyone else had this happen with that specific paste? I'm thinking the grit might be too fine or something.

What grit size is your old reliable paste? I had the same slipping issue with a super fine paste on a carbon stem. Switched to a paste with a coarser, 120-grit texture and it locked in perfectly, no more creep at all.

Have you checked if your torque wrench is still accurate? A tool that's out of spec could be the real culprit, not just the paste grit.

Wait, 120 grit on a carbon stem?
