Old timer at the shop told me to stop greasing pedal threads. Turns out he was right.

Hold up, I gotta disagree with you there. Grease is exactly what you don't want on pedal threads because it makes the pedal feel tight when you're torquing it down, tricking you into not tightening it enough. Then you're out on the trail and that pedal works itself loose and you're walking home. A dry thread gives you a more honest feedback on the wrench so you know it's actually snug. Plus if you use grease the pedal can literally back out on its own from vibration over time, I've seen it happen.

Grease is still the right call for keeping corrosion out of aluminum frames. A little bit of anti-seize on the threads won't hurt anything, and it sure beats having a pedal seize up on a trail.
